Teesside University is a modern and innovative University that has built an impressive reputation for its widening participation, teaching excellence, student experience and business engagement. Supported by a robust financial platform and with entrepreneurial flair at its heart, the University is well placed for the challenges and opportunities ahead.

The School of Social Sciences and Law, spanning sociology, criminology, education, psychology, sport and exercise and of course law, has doubled in size over the last three years. Research activity is focussed on our thriving Social Futures Institute and we are developing new state-of-the-art facilities to enable further growth in sport and exercise. Your remit as Dean will be to build on this success.

Reporting to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Graham Henderson, you will take responsibility for all aspects of the overall leadership, development and performance of the School.

Already an experienced leader, with the academic and personal credibility and proven management experience to rise to this exceptional challenge, the key to your success will be your ability to bring energy, creativity and drive to building successful relationships both internally, externally and on the regional and national stage.
