£8.01 per hour

We are seeking candidates available immediately for expected temporary positions based at both City Campus and Coach Lane Campus sites of Northumbria University.

Typical duties will include typing / word processing.

Maintaining manual and electronic files/records. Distribution of post and photocopying. Dealing with general enquiries, including telephone and reception duties. Data entry / working with databases.

Applicants should possess relevant administration experience. You will require the ability to type accurately and at a reasonable speed. Accurate spelling and grammar. Basic level PC and Word skills. Understanding of systems for filing, indexing and cross referencing. Experience of record keeping / databases and understanding of the need to check for missing / incorrect data. Able to deal with confidential information in an appropriate manner. Able to prioritise and schedule work.

Duration of temporary contracts vary.

Able to prioritise and schedule work.

IT Helpline Advisor - NORTH EAST

£9.05 per hour

Our client is currently seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic 1st line support technician; to join an established fast paced team in the Northeast.

To provide first line technical support to internal employees, assisting them with PC, Server, networking and hardware problems via phone and email.

Duties and Responsibilities

To provide 1st line technical support queries professionally and efficiently, maintaining a high degree of customer service.

  • To ensure that all SLA’s are met.

  • To take ownership of user problems, perform a technical diagnosis and fix the issue remotely.

  • To document all calls on the call logging system.

  • To maintain user security on all systems.

Key Skills –

  • Knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems with emphasis on Windows XP / Vista / Windows 7 and MS Server 2003 / 2008.

  • Knowledge of Active Directory.

  • Good understanding of PC hardware and software set-up and configuration and TCP/IP networking skills.

  • Excellent telephone manner.

This role would suit an ambitious IT technician who has a good blend of hardware and software experience.

Ideally you will be available immediately.

You will be required to work between the hours of 4pm – 12 midnight Monday to Friday and 9am – 10pm on weekends.

Both Full and Part Time posts are available.

This is a long-term contract role.
