Assistant Administrator work in the University
Administrative support is essential to many of the activities engaged in by the University. Consequently, administrative posts are to be found in a wide range functions across the organisation.
The types of activities administrative assistants are engaged in are very similar. These include:
- Dealing with personal and telephone callers
- Answering routine enquiries
- Data entry into large databases
- Operating processes required to carry out the main functions of administrative area
- Maintaining and developing electronic and paper based record systems
- Gathering, preparing and presenting data in Excel, Word, etc., reports
- Producing correspondence, minutes and other documents
- General office duties involving photocopying, maintaining stationery supplies, distribution of post, etc
