A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and entrepreneurial Commercial Director to join a talented team at this award-winning Airport. Over recent years turnover has increased to circa £52m and the Board remain committed to further ambitious development with bold and exciting investment plans. There is further planned development in the terminal and surrounding land resources and the commercial future of the airport remains full of opportunity.
THE ROLE
- Reporting to the CEO, the role encompasses full P&L responsibility for non-aeronautical revenue streams arising from retail outlets
- To develop effective commercial strategies/initiatives to increase revenue per passenger and enhance overall customer experience
- Responsible for contractual negotiations with new or existing retail partners to generate maximum returns for both sides
- Maintaining strong relationships with existing trading partners whilst targeting new alliances likely to generate future revenue growth
THE CANDIDATE
- Strategic, highly commercial individual with a track record of successful delivery within a complex, customer-focused retail setting
- Preferably involving simultaneous relationships with a number of well known/'high street' names
- Significant experience (+5 years) in negotiating long-term, profitable retail contracts with specific focus on margins and EBITDA growth
- Ability to successfully manage/motivate in a cross-functional environment incorporating marketing, operations and finance
- Robust in character, self-motivated, highly ambitious with an ability to communicate, influence and build relationships at all levels
