Accessibility
Northern Recruitment Group (NRG) is committed to equal opportunities. Part of our commitment is making our website accessible to many people as possible, regardless of ability.
Web standards
Our website is designed to meet the W3C's XHTML 1.0 and CSS2 standards. These standards make our site viewable on as many web browsers on as many platforms as possible.
Disability standards
NRG's commitment to less able users means our site is compliant with the W3C's Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) and the American Section 508 disability standards to priority 3 (AAA). These standards help to ensure our site is accessible to as many people as possible using as many browsers as possible.
Whilst every care is taken to meet these standards, some pages, particularly those that reference external content, may fall short of full compliance. The effect of these failings will be minimal, however, if you have problems using the site, please contact our technical support team.
Shortcut keys
For users who do not use a mouse or pointing device, we've tried to help by providing shortcut keys to move between fields when filling in forms. These shortcuts are typically accessed by pressing the ALT key on Windows or Command key on Macs plus the appropriate shortcut key, e.g. ALT+T or COMMAND+T.
The available shortcut keys on our forms can be identified by an underlined letter in the field name. For example, Title indicates that T is the shortcut key, so pressing ALT+T or COMMAND+T will move the cursor to that field.
An exception to this is the Quick Search form at the top right of each page. These fields do not have field names, therefore, we cannot indicate the shortcut key. However, the fields can still be accessed with easy-to-remember shortcut keys:
- Keywords = K
- Location = L
- Category = C
In addition, the 5 main navigation links at the top of the site are also accessible through shortcut keys 1 to 5, so to access the Home link, press ALT+1 or COMMAND+1 to select the link then Enter or Return to go to the page.
